Xie Shanghua visits Mianyang for research on the development of the silver economy

From April 7th to 8th, Xie Shanghua, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), led the responsible members of the Social and Legal Committee of the Provincial CPPCC to Mianyang to conduct research on the "development of the silver economy in our province" and "promoting high-quality development of urban elderly care services."
Xie Shanghua and his team visited Zitong County Shiniu Area Elderly Care Center, Zitong Jiashi Geriatric Hospital, Sichuan Changhong Smart Health Technology Co., Ltd., Mianyang Elderly University, Guangda Bailinbang · Mianyang Xiaojian Yikang Elderly Care Center, etc., to gain in-depth understanding of the development of silver economy and urban elderly care services in our city, and to exchange and discuss the existing pain points, difficulties, and obstacles.
Xie Shanghua pointed out that developing the silver economy is an important measure to actively address the aging population and promote high-quality development, which benefits both the present and the future. It is necessary to deeply understand the significance of developing the silver economy, and to effectively align thoughts and actions with the decisions and arrangements of the Central Committee, provincial Party committee, and provincial government, in order to promote the scale, standardization, clustering, and branding development of the silver economy. Focus should be placed on the diverse and growing demands, creating new smart and healthy elderly care formats, cultivating high-end products and high-quality service models, and allowing the elderly to share the fruits of development.
Taking "integrating medical care and elderly care" as the starting point, we should deepen the integration of the "talent chain, education chain, innovation chain, and industry chain," promote the transformation of innovative achievements into industries, and drive the coordinated development of elderly care services and the elderly care industry. We need to continuously strengthen the professional team that supports diversified and high-quality elderly care needs, enhance the caregiving service capabilities for disabled elderly people. It is essential to innovate concepts, systems, and mechanisms to create a favorable social atmosphere for the development of the silver economy, and collectively accelerate the development of the silver economy.
