Mianyang's Regional GDP Reaches 230.382 Billion Yuan in 2018, An Increase of 9.0%, Ranking Second in Sichuan

Our reporter learned from the meeting that in 2018, Mianyang achieved a total regional GDP of 230.382 billion yuan, ranking second in Sichuan.
Agricultural production remained stable and grain production reaped a bumper harvest.
Agricultural production and rural economic development in 2018 were stable. The added value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery (including the service industry value of those fields) was 30.927 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%, 0.1 percentage points higher than the average level of Sichuan. The total grain output reached 22.965 million tons, down 0.4%. Among them, the grain output in late Autumn was 4.462 million tons, down 0.2%, the grain output in Spring was 1.8503 million tons, down 0.4%, and the oil output was 0.4365 million tons, up 1.6%.
Industries operate well and industry development is booming day by day.
The added value of above-scale industries increased by 10.8%, 0.3 percentage points higher than that of the previous year, 2.5 percentage points higher than the average level of the province, ranking fifth in Sichuan. The production and sales rate of above-scale industrial enterprises reached 97.4%.
From the perspective of key industries, the gross output value of the six key industries increased by 14.1%. Among them, energy-saving and environmental protection industry grew by 31.1%, automobile industry by 14.7%, new material industry by 14.6%, food industry by 13.0%, high-end equipment manufacturing industry by 11.3%, electronic information and new generation information technology industry by 10.4%.
From the perspective of industry classification, there are 34 industries in Mianyang, 29 of which have achieved positive growth and 16 of which have exceeded the average level of the whole city. Among them, the comprehensive utilization of waste resources has increased by 125.3%; the instrument manufacturing industry has increased by 50.3%; the paper-making and paper products industry has increased by 41.5%; the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry has increased by 40.1%; and the specialized equipment manufacturing industry has increased by 38.5%.
From the perspective of benefits, the main business income of above-scale industrial enterprises from January to November was 235.638 billion yuan, an increase of 12.3%, and the total profit after offsetting losses was 9.088 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1%.
Total investment continued to expand, and real estate investment stopped falling and rebounded.
Fixed assets investment in the whole city grew by 15.8%, which was 2.7 percentage points higher than that of the previous year, and 5.6 percentage points higher than the average level of Sichuan province. As a result, it ranked first in Sichuan province after rising 10 places. Among them, private investment increased by 28.2%, accounting for 58.4% of the total investment.
From the perspective of industrial investment, investment in primary industry increased by 32.8%, investment in secondary industry increased by 30.3%, of which industrial investment increased by 30.8%, and investment in tertiary industry increased by 7.7%.
From the perspective of the real estate market, the investment in real estate development in Mianyang increased by 15.8%, 29.9 percentage points higher than that of the previous year. The construction area of commercial housing was 17.4142 million square meters, down 7.5%. Among them, the newly constructed area was 5.0338 million square meters, an increase of 7.9%. The sales area of commercial housing was 5.8903 million square meters, an increase of 6.2%.
The consumer market is growing steadily and the demand for quality life is strong.
The total retail sales of consumer goods in the city reached 114.948 billion yuan, an increase of 12.0%. It is 0.9 percentage points higher than the average level of the whole province, ranking ninth in Sichuan. Retail sales of enterprises over designated size reached 37.588 billion yuan, an increase of 15.4%. Among them, retail sales of online goods increased by 32.7%.
According to the location of sales, urban retail sales reached 73.839 billion yuan, an increase of 11.9%, while rural retail sales reached 41.108 billion yuan, an increase of 12.2%.
According to consumption pattern, catering income was 20.267 billion yuan, an increase of 14.0%; income of retail-sales goods was 94.680 billion yuan, an increase of 11.5%.
According to popular commodities, retail sales of 16 categories of commodities have achieved positive growth. Among them, grain, oil, food, beverage, tobacco and alcohol retail sales amounted to 4.39 billion yuan, an increase of 17.9%; automobile retail sales amounted to 10.03 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4%; household appliances and audio-visual equipment retail sales amounted to 7.712 billion yuan, an increase of 23.7%; Petroleum and petroleum products retail sales amounted to 4.998 billion yuan, an increase of 16.1%.
Consumer prices are rising moderately and the industrial index is basically stable.
Our consumer price index rose by 2.2%, and among the prices of eight categories of goods and services, seven increased and one declined. Among them, medical and health care prices rose by 5.6%; residential prices rose by 4.3%; household goods and services prices rose by 3.4%; food, tobacco and alcohol prices rose by 1.8%; the prices of other goods and services rose by 1.2%; education, culture and entertainment prices rose by 0.4%, and clothing prices rose by 0.4%. The price of transportation and communications dropped by 0.2%.
The industrial producer price index increased by 1.2%, which was the same as last year; the purchasing price index of industrial producers increased by 5.9%, which was 1% lower than that of last year.
Urban and rural residents continued to increase their incomes, and rural residents’ incomes were growing faster than those of cities and towns.
The per capita disposable income of urban residents in the whole city was 34,411 yuan, an increase of 8.1%, which was 1,195 yuan higher than the average level of Sichuan province, ranking third in the whole province. The per capita disposable income of rural residents was 16,101 yuan, an increase of 9.1%, which was 2,770 yuan higher than the average level of Sichuan province, ranking fifth in the whole province.
