Mianyang Intangible Cultural Heritage Appears in Singapore's Large-scale Cultural Tourism Exposition

Abstract: on January 8, the 27th "Spring City Full of Chinese Feelings" Culture, Art and Tourism Exposition was reopened in Singapore's Tampines. With the efforts and coordination of the Publicity Department of the municipal Party committee, the Municipal Bureau of culture, radio, tourism, and the municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage Center, three inheritors of intangible cultural heritages of Mianyang brought colorful intangible cultural and creative products from Mianyang to the Singapore exhibition, and received numerous praise from the audience.
In this large-scale cultural tourism exhibition, Huang Qiang, the representative inheritor of Qiang's straw weaving, led the inheritors Jiang Furong and Chen Shengyong to appear. At the event site, they not only displayed superb intangible cultural heritage manual skills for the audience, but also brought more than 10 intangible cultural heritage projects with distinctive characteristics of Mianyang intangible cultural heritage together with more than 200 creative intangible cultural heritage products, including bamboo weaving, Qiang embroidery, boxwood comb, jinsinan, Wenchang New Year picture, water Polish paint, Santai manual knitting, pyrography, color painting, Beichuan dough sculpture and sugar painting.
"It's too delicate. I didn't expect that these handmade bamboo weaves could be combined with colorful arts to make these cultural and creative products beautiful decorative paintings, various ornaments and pendants. It's amazing that these ancient new year pictures should be combined with modern fashion products such as wine, pillow, stamp and jewelry.” Hearing the inheritor's account of the development of intangible cultural heritage in Mianyang, Sichuan, the audience and merchants were surprised and praised. Some of the audience were curious to watch the live performance, some were directly involved in learning skills, and Mianyang intangible cultural heritage once again made a great show on the international stage.
Founded in 1994, "Spring City Full of Chinese Feelings" Culture, Art and Tourism Exposition  integrates the colorful culture of Chinese ethnic groups and the essence of traditional handicrafts of folk handicrafts. This activity enables Singaporeans to have a better understanding of China's extensive and profound culture and its unique folklore. It also provides opportunities to promote cultural exchanges and appreciation of folk art between China and Singapore, and creates a better exchange platform for cultural, tourism and economic and trade exchanges between the two sides.
The event was hosted by the Singapore China Cultural and Educational Exchange Center and co sponsored by China Tourism Office in Singapore, Singapore China Chamber of Commerce and Lianhe Zaobao. It was sponsored by the Singapore Embassy of the People's Republic of China, and honorarily sponsored by the China General Chamber of Commerce of Singapore and the Federation of Singapore Zongxiang Guildhall.
The development of intangible cultural heritage holding group in Mianyang has attracted a large number of local visitors and tourists. From the perspective of folk cultural exchange, it reflects the increasingly close relationship between China and Singapore. It also vividly confirms the opportunities and vitality brought by China's development to the world and a solid step taken by Mianyang traditional culture to establish an exchange and promotion center overseas.
