On August 6, Yuan Fang, Deputy Secretary of the Mianyang Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, chaired a symposium on key foreign trade import and export enterprises in Mianyang to listen to the opinions and suggestions of enterprises for actively dealing with Sino-US trade frictions and promoting the stability of foreign trade, and to study for promoting the next step. He emphasized that Mianyang should firmly take Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era as the guide, comprehensively implement the decisions and deployment of the Central and Sichuan provincial governments, firm the efforts, expand the main power and provide excellent services, promote the high-quality development of export-oriented economy, and make every effort to maintain the good momentum of its development.
Yuan Fang pointed out that in the first half of 2019, under the complex and severe global economic and trade environment, Mianyang's foreign trade import and export situation still has maintained a trend of steady growth, achieving a total foreign trade value of 10.278 billion yuan, exceeding the six-month target task, ranking second in the total amount of Sichuan province. Especially the strong growth momentum of private enterprises, has became the main force, which drives the city's foreign trade. Next, we should accurately analyze and judge the current and future situation at home and abroad, seize the new growth point of foreign trade, firm confidence and keep expectations, take targeted measures, and strive to promote the stable quality of foreign trade and keep the stable development of economy in Mianyang.
Yuan Fang emphasized that enterprises are the main body of economic development. Improving the quality of foreign trade import and export enterprises is an inevitable choice to promote the sustained development of foreign trade. We should strive to enhance the strength of relevant enterprises in Mianyang and constantly enhance the internal energy of development. First, we should highlight independent innovation. We should follow the market rules, take capital as the link and innovation as the driving force, focus on strengthening technological innovation, management innovation and collaborative innovation, accelerate the pace of transformation and upgrading, and take the road of high-quality development. Second, we should strengthen brand building. We should improve brand awareness, optimize product structure, accelerate the transformation of export products from traditional comparative advantages to new advantages centered on technology, brand and quality, increase added value of products, enhance market competitiveness, and promote the transformation of "Mianyang products" to "Mianyang brands". Third, we should pay attention to market expansion. We should further deepen our trade with our long-term partners, and strive to expand the emerging markets of the countries and regions along the"one Belt one Road", as well as the Middle East and Africa. We will actively seize the initiative of the market and strive to enhance the market share of Mianyang products.
Yuan Fang stressed that we should speed up the research and formulation of supporting policies to uphold the development of foreign trade import and export enterprises, further strengthen the three aspects for precise services on platform, capital and environment. We should give priority to enterprises, so that enterprises can grow without worry. We should strengthen the support of the platform, speed up the construction of comprehensive bonded areas, focus on building cross-border e-commerce industrial park, and actively build a platform for enterprises in Mianyang to "strengthen cooperation and share resources". We should strengthen financial support, seize the "bottleneck" problem that restricts the development of enterprises, promote in-depth cost and burden reduction, support enterprises to expand financing, and constantly stimulate the vitality of enterprise development. We should strengthen environmental support, make great efforts to promote administrative approval, improve quality and efficiency, enhance the level of facilitation in combination with the continuing in-depth visits of "four top enterprises", earnestly safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, and strive to create a better development environment for enterprises.
