(Mianyang News) (Reporter: Ma Xinyou) On the morning of November 19, the Project of Mianyang Weltmeister Auto Driving Demonstration Park & Test Trial Center was officially announced in the industrial park of Anzhou District to start by Liu Chao, secretary of the municipal party committee. Yuan Fang, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee and acting mayor, and Yi Yang, deputy director of the Provincial Economic Cooperation Bureau, attended the launching ceremony and delivered speeches. Shen Hui, the founder, chairman and CEO of Weltmeister, introduced the project.
Before the launching ceremony, Liu Chao, Yuan Fang and Yi Yang listened to the introduction of the Project of Mianyang Weltmeister Auto Driving Demonstration Park & Test Trial Center. The project is the largest single industry project introduced throughout the history of Anzhou District. After putting into production, it will greatly contribute to making Mianyang the second largest automobile industry base in Sichuan province.

In his speech, Yuan Fang said that in recent years, the Mianyang municipal party committee and the municipal government have actively followed the global industrial development trend and taken the automobile industry as one of the main directions of creating Mianyang’s “686” modern industrial system. He also said they have focused on the four fields―new energy vehicles, passenger vehicles, intelligence of automobiles and automobiles for specific purposes, fully supported auto companies to become bigger and stronger, and committed to creating a complete automobile industry chain which integrates R&D and production of complete vehicles and core components, so as to accelerate making Mianyang the second largest automobile industry base in Sichuan province. The Project of Mianyang Weltmeister Auto Driving Demonstration Park & Test Trial Center is a major project for Weltmeister to seize the opportunity of developing new energy vehicles and enhance the design and R&D capabilities of new energy vehicles. The project will definitely greatly promote the concentration of advanced technology resources and high-end industrial projects in the field of new energy vehicles in Mianyang and contribute to making Mianyang the cluster of the new energy automobile industry in Sichuan. In his speech, Yi Yang said that the Project of Mianyang Weltmeister Auto Driving Demonstration Park & Test Trial Center has been officially announced to start. The project will definitely attract more upstream and downstream projects of the automobile industry to land in Sichuan province and invest in Mianyang, help the automobile industry of Sichuan and particularly Mianyang gain a new leap, and leave a very significant and far-reaching impact on the development of Mianyang and Sichuan. The Sichuan Provincial Economic Cooperation Bureau will continue to support Mianyang and support the construction of the Project of Mianyang Weltmeister.
